A to V guide about Vama Veche – Part I #jurnaldevama (#vamadiary)

I'm sorry I did not get the chance to enjoy Vama Veche during the period when there were only two barracks and three tents. I came here the first time when things were booming. In 2008 boys were on a roll, busily building, which happens today as well. This should be a sign that the place prospers, people come in an increasing number, despite some people's opinion that "Vama is gone!" I do not think necessarily that it is gone. It has changed a lot, it is true, but its spirit remained still there. If you are looking for reasons to argue that Vama became a bummer, be sure that you find. But if you do that, then why would you have to read this guide?

In Vama, you come to drink, to have fun, to have sex, to dance until sunrise, to turn yourself in every way without anyone judging you, and if you have time to sit and look askance at things you do not like. Or you can do these things in reverse, and instead of watching a cool sunrise with blurred eyes by alcohol and with a stupid smile on the face, complain that bed linen from accommodation is crepe and it scratched your back all night, and you could not sleep. Do you see what my point is? It depends very much on which side you want to see.

From 2008 until now I come every summer in Vama. Last year I spent almost all summer around here and this year I will do the same. Because I have some experience in this regard, I thought to write the guide below. Maybe it will not be useful at all, but worth a read, because at some point I'll give a drink. Today is about alcohol, money, cakes, dancing and worries.

A - Alcohol
Because the village is small and terraces, bars and shops are next to each other, it is likely that in Vama are sold the most cubic meters of alcohol on the coast. It's not even necessary an exact statistic in this regard, just pay attention, as long as the state allows, on how the bottles of beer, the shots and the long drinks disappear. If you decide to enter the training camp is good to have around some water. It’s similar to the one from the sea, except it's not salty and you can drink it. It's as wet as the sea, but has an interesting feature: hydrates you and doesn't let you pass out. Moreover, good luck and watch out where you get sick.

- Money
About money, I have nothing to say. Would be crazy to advise you on how to spend it. Be careful not to waste it all the first night, because then you will parade on the main street with a banner "one kiss = 1 Ron". Either way, do not cry for money. It would have been a short-lived relationship.

C - Cakes
If you go to Vama, it is imperative to try a cake. Among connoisseurs, it's named Trinity Beverage, because it comprises three alcoholic beverages which, added together, give you a taste of cake freshly taken out of the oven. We talk to those who do not know about Jägermeister, Stroh and Baileys. Once you drink the first, you'll want the second. And from a certain number of shots, you start talking to saints.
Maybe you wouldn't have thought, but the best cakes from Vama are at Sandalandala bar. Look, to convince yourself, go to the bar and ask for a cake to see how it is. It's on us. You can tell the bartender that you saw this on the website. If you like it and you ask for another one, you'll pay for the second one. If you do not like it, there's no problem, you do not owe anything. I said it’s on us, to satisfy your curiosity.

D - Dance
The dance has several meanings when you get in Vama. It depends on the level of talent or alcohol of everyone. Plus it seems to me that what is happening in the dance clubs is not even dance, it is more a rhythm jitters. It depends on the coordination of moves. But again, it depends on how much you drank before.
The coolest dance is by far the one on the table because you expect any minute ballerinas to fall off the podium - most of them are women. And I am not sexist nor misogynist, but that is the truth. Drunk ladies with lease of life are the first who want to stand out, and that's not a bad thing because nobody judges anybody. But it's funny when gravity comes into operation. If it happens to see one getting on the bar or a rail, prepare your phone to film it because it's probably a one million views clip. Either way, bruising passes, and after having a little fun, we start drinking and dancing again.

W – Worries
Sandalandala is the perfect place where you come, delete the worries, and leave with a much better energy and a vibe that keeps you plugged in for a while. If you have not yet reached the camping, come to take a look at least.
